The conference analyzes initiatives that have already been implemented during Holy Week in Seville, such as mass movement detection.

The mayor of Seville, Juan Espadas, attended the inauguration of the technical conference ‘Technology and Social Media in Public Events’ organized by the City Council of Seville and the Council of Brotherhoods and Cofradias at the Official College of Surveyors and Technical Architects of Seville. The aim of this conference is to analyze various aspects related to the application of information and communication technologies and the management of social media in large local events, using the experience of the pilot Smart City project developed during Holy Week in Seville as a reference.

Through various workshops and presentations, the conference analyzes initiatives that have already been implemented during Holy Week in Seville, such as mass movement detection using artificial intelligence algorithms; artificial vision applied to mass biodynamics within the framework of the Smart City project developed during Holy Week in Seville; or the ‘panic’ lighting system and its applications in crisis situations. It also addresses aspects such as the influence of noise on the perception of insecurity; the application of technology in the field of health emergencies; and the municipal perspective on self-protection for large events.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The conference is complemented by an analysis of social media management in large events, framed within the second meeting #Sevillaenredes, in which account managers related to Holy Week and emergency services participate. This section addresses aspects such as cybercrime in the realm of social media; new trends in social media; the spread of rumors and misinformation; and social media management in crisis situations and its application during Holy Week in Seville.
