Light Environment Control, also known by its acronym LEC, is a Cádiz-based company dedicated to the development of lighting using LED technology. It is present in Middle Eastern markets through its lighting solutions for Smart Cities. Thus, it offers efficient lighting solutions that are tailored to and considerate of the environment while establishing control over the needs of the population.
This company, located in the municipality of Barbate, has been a pioneer in Europe in developing lighting projects for cities through LED technology. Although its main sales share comes from the national market, LEC has always included exports as part of its business strategy. LEC develops significant international projects, primarily in the Middle East and in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia. Specifically, in the latter country, the Cádiz-based company has carried out the important lighting project for the Riyadh Metro. Furthermore, LEC‘s internationalization has also taken it to other Northern European countries, with clients such as supermarket chains, as well as to Latin America and Africa.
In this expansion into foreign markets, LEC has received support and collaboration from Extenda-Andalucía Export and Foreign Investment. ‘Thanks to Extenda, we have been able to attend international fairs and events that we would not have been able to go to without their collaboration, as well as missions with potential clients, invitations to international programs, or webinars,’ comments Enrique Briehl Tamayo, commercial director of Light Environment Control. GreenCities, the leading event for stakeholders involved in the construction of smart and sustainable cities, held in Málaga, is one of their major engagements. ‘We have participated on two occasions in collaboration with Extenda. They facilitated a series of online meetings with companies from other countries, both during the event and afterwards,’ Enrique Briehl assures.
Future plans
LEC‘s future plans involve becoming the sole provider of solutions for Smart Cities municipalities, covering any type of lighting need, capacity management, or other areas that may be required to make the lives of their citizens more efficient and secure.
